Air purifiers & UV systems: what should you budget?

A replacement UV lamp, a new UV device and a whole-home purifier are different purchases. We check the existing system and explain the equipment and ongoing replacement needs.

Behind the planning guidance

How we checked the prices.

We reviewed eleven mixed UV/purifier jobs from 2021–2026. The headline uses three whole-home purifier installations from June 2025 through June 2026: HALO installations at $1,200 and $1,250, and a REME HALO LED plus BLU-QR UV package at $1,800. The $1,800 package was an add-on to a central-system replacement; the other two were separately billed purifier installations. These are different models and scopes, not eleven equivalent new installations. Older basic UV kits, replacement bulbs and filter bundles were excluded from this band. Past prices are planning examples, not current offers.

11 distinct completed records were reviewed for this service. Subgroups have smaller samples, as described above. This is a selected scope review, not a statistical average. We do not publish customer details. A historical discount or an older price is not a current promotion.

Questions worth asking.

Is a UV bulb replacement the same as installing an air purifier?

No. A replacement lamp services equipment you already own. A new purifier or UV system includes the specified device and installation work. Our guide keeps those scopes separate.

Will a purifier remove humidity?

Air treatment and moisture control are separate needs. We can assess whether filtration, a different air-treatment device, humidity control or another system issue should be addressed.

What ongoing costs should I ask about?

Ask about the exact replacement lamp, cell or media, its service schedule, access for maintenance and any parts that are not covered by the equipment terms.
