Straight answers on AC pricing

Know the work.
Plan for the cost.

A repair, a replacement system and a maintenance visit are different jobs. Start with the service you need, then see what the price covers and what can change your written estimate.

Before the repair

What does a diagnostic visit cost?

Residential

$90

Residential after hours / weekend

$195

Commercial

$185

Commercial after hours / weekend

$285

These are the current catalog diagnostic charges. Repairs are additional unless your written option includes them. A fee credit is not automatic. New-system estimates and second opinions are listed separately as free services.

Farrell Air Conditioning service planning ranges
Job and scopePrice / planning range
AC installation & replacement

A complete central system is more than the outdoor unit. This planning range covers selected Farrell-supplied split and package replacements, with the installation work stated in each proposal.

$7,300–$13,500

Farrell-supplied central system projects

AC repair

From a clogged condensate line or failed capacitor to a motor, valve or compressor repair. The problem and parts determine the price; a diagnostic-only visit is listed separately.

$300–$2,600

Selected repair visits and component work

AC maintenance plans

Choose the annual plan that fits your system: $149 for one scheduled visit or $199 for two. A plan purchase and a repair during a maintenance visit are different charges.

$149–$199

Annual plan: one or two scheduled visits

AC tune-up

A one-time tune-up checks operation and routine maintenance items. The current catalog starts at $129 for the stated visit; multiple systems and approved repairs add to the total.

$129–$155

Selected single-system routine visits

Ductless mini-split installation

One room, multiple zones and several separate systems are different projects. We price the condenser, indoor heads, line sets, electrical work and installation scope together.

$4,500–$12,000

Farrell-supplied: one zone through two systems

Customer-supplied mini-split installation

Installation only; you supply the equipment. Materials, existing connections and electrical scope vary.

$1,400–$3,500

Installation only; equipment purchase excluded

Commercial HVAC

A diagnostic visit or small repair is different from a maintenance contract or a rooftop replacement. Start with the affected system and the work your business needs.

$185–$750

Selected diagnostic and small repair visits

Air purifiers & UV systems

A replacement UV lamp, a new UV device and a whole-home purifier are different purchases. We check the existing system and explain the equipment and ongoing replacement needs.

$1,200–$1,800

Selected whole-home purifier installations

Whole-home dehumidifiers

A whole-home dehumidifier needs the right capacity, controls, drainage and connection to your home. We assess the moisture problem before recommending equipment.

Written estimate

Assessment and written installation estimate

Ventilation & airflow work

An exhaust run, a duct repair and a whole-home ventilation system solve different problems. We identify the airflow path and quote the work your home actually needs.

Written estimate

Price depends on the defined airflow work

AC filter replacement

A standard filter swap, specialty media replacement and a multi-system maintenance visit are different jobs. We match the filter to the equipment and separate materials from the visit scope.

Written estimate

Filter type, quantity and visit scope

Some projects fall outside the shown bands. Subgroups have different sample sizes; read the guide before comparing prices. Customer-supplied equipment, optional upgrades, unusual access and multi-system projects need their own scope.

How we built these guides

Actual work. Clearly stated limits.

We checked completed job records and the charged line items, including quantities, discounts and related work. We separated equipment purchases from installation labor, routine visits from repair additions, and one-system jobs from larger projects.

The records were selected to compare scopes, not to calculate a statistical average. Older prices and discounts are identified as historical. Where a reliable comparison is missing, the guide explains what we need for a written estimate.

Bring these questions to your estimate.

  • Who supplies the equipment, and which exact model is included?
  • Does the total include the visit, permits and needed connections?
  • Which electrical, duct, access or finish work is separate?
  • What coverage applies, and what are the maintenance conditions?
  • What is the complete written price before I approve the work?

A few answers before you call.

Are these Farrell Air Conditioning prices or national averages?

The repair and installation planning bands use selected completed Farrell Air Conditioning jobs, with current catalog prices shown separately for diagnostic visits, tune-ups and annual plans. Each guide explains its evidence and scope. These are not national averages, fixed quotes or a statistical average of every job.

Does every low price include the equipment?

No. The central-system headline covers Farrell-supplied equipment. Mini-split guides separate company-supplied equipment from customer-supplied installation. A replacement filter, UV lamp or maintenance visit is not the same purchase as a complete system.

What can change the written price?

Equipment, capacity, number of systems, access, electrical and duct requirements, permits and the actual fault can all change the work. The proposal should state equipment ownership, inclusions, separate work, fees and the total you approve.

Why do some services say written estimate?

A useful range needs comparable completed work with a clear scope. When our reviewed records mix different jobs or do not provide enough installation evidence, we explain what must be assessed instead of publishing an unsupported price.

Can I estimate a monthly payment?

Yes. Our financing page has a rough payment calculator for new-system planning. Enter your project amount and your own APR and repayment assumptions. It is not a credit offer or application; call our team to ask about Wisetack through Housecall Pro.
